This message by Pastor Rod Harris was delivered at Trinity Baptist Church on Sunday morning, April 22, 2007, and was taken from Mark 1:14-28.
Many have distorted who Jesus really is. Today’s passage provides three snapshots that give us a picture of who the Jesus of Scripture really is.
- Vs. 14, 15:Â Our righteous saviour unflinchingly calls sinful, fallen, corrupt people to repentance.
- Vs. 16-20: This righteous saviour of ours also requires unquestioned and absolute allegiance and devotion.
- Vs. 21- 28: Our sovereign Lord dares to confront the enemy head on.
Who is Jesus to you? What is He like? What does He demand of you? If He is just a friend who helps you when you get into trouble, then you have never met the Jesus of Scripture. Have you encountered the Jesus of Scripture?
