Wow, Wayne! Love it that you are doing this!
For Micah Singleton: Thom is at Christ Our King 503 E Nifong Blvd Ste I PMB 128 Columbia MO 65201 1-573-256-5225 "Coincidentally" ha! just spoke with Frankie Haling this am by phone and she mentioned it. Also for Micah - you grew up with our kids at Tanglewood and thought you might want to check out James' website @ http://www.nonconforums.com/ He is in Orlando, FL and, with friends, has started this website for spiritual discussion/sharing. (I can't believe you guys are both in FL!) Bill (Billy Don) is in Santa Monica and is a CGI artist for Digital Domain. He also contributes to this site. Check out Transformers which is his latest project! The boys would love to hear from you. Rachel is a SBC Pastor's wife in Muskogee, OK. with our 2 grandchildren, Stephen-8th grade and Sarah-5th grade.
Micah, know that Father will make it possible for your relationship with your parents to become even more intimate. He will make it possible for you all to still be close even though you will be separated by even greater miles. What an advantage technology affords you to keep on sharing your lives with each other! I hope they will have the tech tools to do this. SKYPE with webcams are awesome to have real-time audio/video conversations. We have become even closer with the boys because our conversations are precious treasures because of the distance. We find ourselves discussing the really important things and loving each other more intimately. I know Father will give this to you. How difficult distance is, though! Jim and I will be praying for you and especially your little ones that they will know your dear parents through their coming absence. We will also pray for your parent's ministry in such a needy country. Micah - if you would - please send my email address to your parents. We would love to continue praying for them! okieflamingo@hotmail.com I believe that families are Father's joy and He will comfort you in your separation and bless your relationship with Him and them as you have not experienced before. I believe that good things are ahead for you all. Loved by Him assures you of this!
Back to Wayne: We are at FBC in Wagoner. Our hearts still long for SBChurches to return to their beginnings! Hope you and your family are well.

Pregador27,
Thank you for your kindness. I haven't had the time to write further on the convention. I was encouraged on the whole, especially compared with last year, but there is still much that troubles me about SBC "business".

Thanks for dropping by.

Micah,
Good to hear from you. We got a note in the mail just last week from your folks. We heard a few months back that they would be going to Zambia. Exciting stuff, huh? We are praying for them, and looking forward to hearing of God's work in their lives there. I'm glad you found my little project. It is mostly a platform to podcast the messages preached from our church here in Tulsa, but I do from time to time leave my "indigestion" on these pages, as you can tell from this post.

There is a connection here at Trinity with Thom Smith. Here is where he first met Kathy. Her father was pastor here back in the 70's. Our current pastor, Rod Harris, grew up here and was heavily influenced by Thom's father-in-law, Paul Cook. Pastor Rod stays loosely in touch with Thom. Right now I believe he is somewhere in Missouri, and I am sad to say, I believe has become a Presbyterian.

Again, it was good to hear from you. I hope you find this site useful. Download a message and listen to our pastor. He's almost as good as Thom Smith; on a good day, better.

Mr Hatcher,
I happened upon your blog by mistake,(looking for Thom Smith) and had to leave a note saying hi. I am living in St Petersburg, FL with my wife Marie and my three sons, Jude(4), Atticus(3), and Soren(4 weeks). I am a manager with Starbucks and am looking to go to seminary in the next few years. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods...sounds like the SBC is keeping you busy:). My parents are going to Zambia at the end of this year if you hadn't heard. Kind of a difficult thing to come to grips with at this time but am confident that God will provide all our needs including long-distance relationships. Glad to reconnect with you and hope your family is well.

Excellent short review. After reading a lot on the goings-on, I believe you summed it up well in a few brief paragraphs. Thank you.
