I do, from time to time, dabble in building web sites for other people. I have set this page up primarily for the purpose of giving credit where credit is due. Some times, to make a site look more professional I will delete the standard WordPress and themes credits which are usually found at the bottom of the page. In their place I place a link to this page. That does two things: 1). Allows those really curious folks to be able to know the source to the building blocks of the sites, and 2). to steer business my way.
If you have a small side-line business or large hobby, one of my sites may be just the thing for you. Drop me an email and let me know what you have in mind and I will see if I can help. Once I know what you want, I can give you an idea what the cost will be. Just to give you a rough idea, I probably can set a simple site up for under $1000 with a $100/year server-space and maintenance fee. I am very reluctant to do a site for a church as they are very high maintenance. I know, as I manage my church’s site. I would be happy to help your church set up a WordPress-based site, so long as a competent administrator would be able to perpetually maintain it on their own server space.
Feel free to check out the two sites, not counting my own, that I have thus far put together. Just click on the header to visit the site:
As I said, I want to give credit where it is due. The two foundational building blocks of my sites are the content platform and the theme.
Platform
What can I say? WordPress is simply the best. It is powerful, yet easy to use, and stable too. With its massive user base support and information are plentiful. With its open architecture, themes and plug-ins are in abundance, and well supported. WordPress rules.
Themes
Although I have test run quite a number of themes these are the two themes I continually come back to time after time. The reason? Because they are so very versatile:
